OUR RESPONSIBILITY AGENDA

Ever since we set out to create the first g-lab jacket back in 2010, product longevity, highest material quality and sustainable work ethics formed the core of the brand. We believe ‚buy less but better‘ is the best approach to change the fast fashion consumer behavior to a more selective, slow and sustainable one. Our aim is to create true favorite pieces and wardrobe staples. We do not identify as an ecological brand but take responsibility and focus on creating a refined product from the best quality fabrics and submaterials with a considered approach, from sourcing the fibers to the final production. Every day, we strive to make better choices across all aspects of our business to minimise our social and environmental impact. In the wake of a growing climate emergency and social needs every step matters, no matter how small a detail. This is a process that we are determined to continue to improve on, we look forward to take you on board of our journey and very much welcome feedback from our community as we learn more.

STATUS QUO

Please acknowledge that the fashion cycle is way ahead of our real life, so what you see today was developed almost two years ago and while the past seasons were challenging on so many fronts, g-lab’s responsibility agenda remained strong and we are well advanced in achieving our goals. Within the SS22 collections, all styles are featuring newly developed signature fabrics that are made of recycled and/or sustainable materials, e.g. certified BCI cotton, recycled polyester, certified Lenzing Modal™ fibers and other eco-regenerated materials in our collections. Our paddings are 100% animal free. We are very proud to announce that 2022’s Autumn/Winter collections will even feature some styles made out of more than 90% recycled materials and the collection will overall be made of 76% sustainable materials, featuring sustainable or recycled materials for outer shell, lining, padding and details. Moreover, g-lab will change from a 70% to a 100% PCR recycled PrimaLoft™ padding. As of 2022, all new g-lab fabric, accessories and sub material suppliers are GRS (Global Recycling Standard) certified. We work closely with our suppliers and require transparency to ensure fair conditions for workers.
